A black Honda SUV

The 2025 Honda CR-V is a great choice for today’s modern family. The 5-seat SUV crossover offers a smooth ride around town and on the highway and ample cargo room for big grocery runs or that long weekend trip. Higher trim models also have a hybrid engine system which will be attractive to eco-conscious drivers and those watching their gasoline budget.

Engine and Performance

The base model LX comes standard with a 190-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The Sport Hybrid trims come with a hybrid powertrain with a total of 204 horsepower. These engines offer a smooth ride around town and on the highway.

Fuel Economy

The CR-V front-wheel drive’s gas-powered engine delivers an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive version clocks in at 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. The hybrid all-wheel drive trims clock in at 40 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, with a combined mpg of 37.

Interior and Cargo Space

The CR-V has an especially handsome interior. There’s a cool eye-catching honeycomb mesh strip that runs across the dash.  The 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster offers crisp, pleasant-looking graphics and the 7.0-inch infotainment display is easy to use.

The seats are especially plush and comfortable and there is ample leg and headroom in both the front and rear seats. The cabin is well insulated from road noise, making for a nice, quiet ride. There is 39.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and a total of 76.5 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The easy-to-use 7.0-inch dash touchscreen is the centerpiece of the CR-V’s infotainment system. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 9.0-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Sirius XM are available in higher trims. Rear-seat USB ports and wireless phone charging are also available.

The CR-V’s stereo system is also upgradeable in higher trims. The EX-L, Sport-L Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid all come with a 320-watt audio system with 8 speakers. The Sport Touring Hybrid also has an option for a Bose Premium Sound System with 12 speakers, including a subwoofer.

Safety

The Honda CR-V comes with a host of standard driver-assistance technology. This includes forward collision warning and automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning. The CR-V also comes standard with a hill descent control which helps navigate steep or slippery descents at low speeds.
